Hello. I'm Colm Mc Colgan and I set up this site to help communicate my work as a novice shorts filmmaker.
I'm very interested in collaborating with other filmmakers. Together, we can get more of our films made.

I call the site "West End Movies" as I grew up in the West End district in the town of Buncrana, Co Donegal, Ireland. The local cinema has been located there for nearly 100 years.

I seem to be drawn to stories that use a mixture of ancient community beliefs, history and digital technology to explore characters' journey and motivations.

Screenplays
Have written six screenplays in various stages of development
Qualifications
Recently completed a comprehensive and accredited nine-month diploma in Filmmaking
Films Made
Made two short films from my own screenplays, as well as collaborating with others filmmakers on their productions
Equipment
Have invested in cameras, mics, editing software (Da Vinci & Adobe) and Mac M4
Film Community
Expanding my film community network in Ireland, particularly in Derry, Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim
Virtual Production
Actively assessing how virtual production can increase the ambitions while lowering costs for independent small filmmakers
Skills
Continuously improving my skills, particularly through short courses and workshops with acclaimed directors and screenwriters
Managing Production
Bringing previous career experience and contacts managing European-wide technology projects to film production
